The manual combines research and scientific understanding regarding American Foulbrood (in particular recent research conducted in New Zealand on the subject), with practical techniques New Zealand beekeepers have used to overcome large-scale AFB outbreaks and eliminate the disease from their hives.

The manual is designed to be useful to all beekeepers, whether they own one beehive, or manage a large-scale commercial beekeeping enterprise.
